MPSC photograph and signature at a glance
The Maharashtra Public Service Commission collects a photograph and a signature through its online application. A commonly quoted specification is a photograph of 200 × 230 pixels and 20 to 50 KB, and a signature of 140 × 60 pixels and 10 to 20 KB, both in JPG format. The table shows these as the starting values of the tool.
| Document | File size | Dimensions | What it should show |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photo | 20 to 50 KB | 200 × 230 px | A recent colour photo on a plain light background |
| Signature | 10 to 20 KB | 140 × 60 px | Your own signature in dark ink on white paper |
We found these numbers on a third-party tool page and could not confirm them on a current MPSC advertisement. The commission publishes its rules with each recruitment, so please read yours. If the numbers differ, edit them in Customise.
Which MPSC candidates this helps
The two images are used for the State Services examination, the Combined Group B and Group C exams, and the technical and departmental recruitments. A candidate who registers a profile once can reuse the same files for later applications, so a neat photograph and signature save time.
Compressing your files from start to finish
- Photograph. Upload a clear portrait and centre your face in the crop frame.
- Check the chips. Wait for size and dimensions to turn green, then download.
- Signature. Switch tabs, upload a photo of your signature on white paper and crop tightly.
- Save both. The ZIP button keeps the pair together.
Getting the MPSC photograph right
Face a window for soft daylight, stand in front of a plain light wall and look straight at the lens with a natural expression.
- Recent and plain. Avoid old pictures and group photos.
- Face fully visible. No dark glasses, caps or scarves covering your features.
- No filters. Beauty effects make you look different from your ID.
- Clean the backdrop. The background remover can make a busy wall plain.
Making a clean signature image
Use a dark pen on plain white paper and sign as you do on official documents. Photograph the sheet flat, from straight above, and crop close around the ink. The signature limit is small, so leave ink clean-up on and raise the strength a notch if the strokes look pale.
Details that save a second attempt
- Fill in your name exactly as on your certificates, because the photograph is checked against them.
- Prepare both files before opening the form so the session does not time out.
- Keep a folder of finished files for later stages such as document verification.
Common reasons MPSC uploads fail
- The file is outside the KB range.
- The picture was stretched rather than cropped to shape.
- The photograph is blurred, dark or has a busy background.
- The signature is faint, on lined paper or too large for the frame.
- The file is not a real JPEG.
Staying private while you prepare files
Everything is processed on your device, so your photograph and signature are never sent to our servers. When a file is ready you can download it, save both in a ZIP, or use Share to pass the image and a link to this page to another phone. Delete shared copies from chats afterwards.
