Kerala PSC or Karnataka KPSC?
The short name KPSC is used for two different commissions: the Kerala Public Service Commission and the Karnataka Public Service Commission. They run separate portals with separate rules, so it matters which one you are applying to. This page starts with the Kerala PSC profile values because those are the ones we could find clearly stated. Karnataka candidates should read their own notification and change the numbers using the Customise section.
Nothing else on the page depends on the commission. The crop frame, the live check, the ZIP and the Share button all follow whatever sizes you set.
Starting values at a glance
The table shows the sizes this tool begins with. For Kerala PSC, the profile photograph is commonly described as 150 by 200 pixels and the signature as 150 by 100 pixels, both as JPG files of about 20 to 30 KB.
| Document | File size | Dimensions | What it should show |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photo | 20 to 30 KB | 150 × 200 px | A recent colour photo, shown at 150 × 200 pixels |
| Signature | 20 to 30 KB | 150 × 100 px | Your signature in dark ink on white paper |
Because the commission can change its rules, confirm the figures on the registration page before you upload. If the page asks for something else, enter the new values and carry on as normal.
Preparing your files from start to finish
- Photo first. Select Photo, upload a clear portrait and centre your face in the crop frame.
- Check the chips. Wait for the size and dimensions to turn green, then download the file.
- Signature next. Switch to Signature, upload a photo of your signature on white paper and crop tightly around the ink.
- Keep both together. The ZIP button saves the pair in one download.
- Upload carefully. Check that each file goes into the correct slot on the profile page.
Getting the KPSC photograph right
Face a window so soft daylight lights your face evenly, and stand in front of a plain, light wall. Look straight at the lens with a natural expression.
- Keep it recent. The commission often asks for a picture taken within the last few months.
- Check the name and date rule. Some commission profiles have asked for the candidate’s name and the date the photo was taken on the picture. If yours does, add the strip with the Name & Date tool before resizing.
- Show your full face. No dark glasses, caps or scarves covering your features.
- Plain backdrop. The background remover can clean up a busy wall.
Working with a tight 20 to 30 KB window
A narrow KB range is harder than a wide one, because a file that is too small can fail just as easily as one that is too large. The tool handles this for you. With Within range selected it looks for the sharpest picture that stays under your limit, and if the result falls under the minimum it tops the file up so it lands inside the range. Choose Exactly when you want a specific number, such as 28 KB.
Making a clean signature image
Use a dark pen on plain white paper and sign the way you do on official records. Photograph the sheet flat, from straight above, in good light. Crop close around the ink and keep ink clean-up on. At this small pixel size thin strokes can fade, so raise the ink strength slightly if the preview looks light.
Common reasons KPSC uploads fail
- The file is smaller or larger than the allowed KB range.
- The picture was stretched instead of being cropped to shape.
- The photograph is blurred, dark or has a busy background.
- The signature is on lined paper or is too faint to read.
- The photograph and signature were uploaded in each other’s slots.
Staying private while you prepare files
Everything is processed on your device, so your photograph and signature are never sent to our servers. When a file is ready you can download it, collect both in a ZIP, or use Share to pass the image and a link to this page to another phone. Delete shared copies from chats afterwards.
