One photograph tab and two signature tabs, because the signature limit differs between UG and PG.

Keep the photograph close to your ID proof, because it is checked at the centre.

CUET photograph and signature at a glance
The Common University Entrance Test is conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to central and many other universities. The application asks for a recent photograph and a signature in JPG or JPEG. Recent guides quote the photograph as 200 Γ 230 pixels, 10 to 200 KB. The signature is quoted as 140 Γ 60 pixels, with a range of 10 to 50 KB for UG and 4 to 30 KB for PG.
| Document | File size | Dimensions | What it should show |
|---|---|---|---|
| Photo | 10 to 200 KB | 200 Γ 230 px | A recent passport-size photo, face and ears clear |
| Signature UG | 10 to 50 KB | 140 Γ 60 px | Your own signature, dark ink on white paper |
| Signature PG | 4 to 30 KB | 140 Γ 60 px | Your own signature, dark ink on white paper |
These numbers come from third-party guides that we cross-checked with each other, and we could not confirm them on the NTA bulletin for your year. Please read the current notice, and edit the values in Customise if they differ.
Which signature tab should you use?
The two entrance tests sit on separate application pages and their signature limits are not the same. The UG tab uses a 10 to 50 KB range. The PG tab uses a tighter 4 to 30 KB range. The photograph rules are the same in both.
If you are applying to both UG and PG, which is rare, make the signature on the PG tab, because a file under 30 KB also passes the UG range as long as it is above 10 KB. Check the minimum on your page to be sure.
Preparing your files from start to finish
- Photo. Upload a clear portrait and centre your face, ears included, in the crop frame.
- Check the chips. Wait for size and dimensions to turn green, then download.
- Signature. Choose the UG or PG tab, upload a photo of your signature on white paper and crop tightly.
- Keep everything. The ZIP button collects every finished file into one download.
Getting the CUET photograph right
The notice asks for a recent photograph in colour or black and white with a white or very light background and at least 80 per cent of the face visible, including the ears. Use daylight facing a window and look straight at the lens.
- No masks or caps.
- Not blurred. Hold the phone steady or rest it on a shelf.
- Keep spare copies. You may need the same picture for admission forms later.
- Plain backdrop. The background remover can turn a busy wall white.
Making a clean signature image
Use a dark pen on plain white paper and sign as you normally do. Crop close around the ink. The PG limit is small, so keep ink clean-up on: a white background compresses much better and leaves room for the strokes to stay sharp.
Details that save a second attempt
- If you are uploading a disability certificate or identity proof, those are separate documents with their own size ranges. This tool covers the photograph and signature.
- Prepare every image before you start the form, because the session can time out.
- After you submit, the portal may not allow images to be replaced.
Common reasons CUET uploads fail
- The file is outside the KB range for your level.
- The picture was stretched rather than cropped to shape.
- The photograph is blurred, dark, or has the ears hidden.
- The signature is faint or on lined paper.
- The file is not a real JPEG.
Staying private while you prepare files
Everything is processed on your device, so your photograph and signature are never sent to our servers. When a file is ready you can download it, save the set in a ZIP, or use Share to pass the image and a link to this page to another phone. Delete shared copies from chats afterwards.
